Privacy
Last updated 30 October 2026
Islora is built so that your data stays on your Mac. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising. I (Özgür Kılıç, the developer) do not collect, store or see anything about how you use the app.
What stays on your Mac
- Clipboard history, collections and the apps you filter by. Items that password managers mark as confidential are never recorded.
- The file index used by Search and Islora Search.
- The shelf, your tasks and notes, timers, Pomodoro history and every setting.
- Pictures and videos you choose for the lock screen, and the depth map computed from a picture (computed on your Mac, once).
- Camera and microphone input for the mirror, teleprompter, over-the-shoulder alert and voice commands is processed live and never stored or sent anywhere.
What goes over the internet, and to whom
Only when you use the feature, and only the request needed for it:
- Weather: the coordinates of the city you picked are sent to MET Norway (api.met.no). No location permission is used.
- Lyrics: the title and artist of the playing track are sent to LRCLIB (lrclib.net).
- Exchange rates: fetched from the European Central Bank.
- Assistant: a web or Wikipedia lookup you type is sent to that site.
- Dock cards: stock, index, currency and crypto prices are fetched from public price services.
- License: when you enter a key, the key and a random identifier for this Mac are sent to Lemon Squeezy to activate it; the key is then checked occasionally and works offline between checks. Lemon Squeezy also handles your purchase; see their privacy policy.
- Updates: the app asks islora.app whether a newer version exists. The request carries the app version and macOS version, nothing that identifies you.
None of these requests include your name, email or anything from your clipboard, files or screen.
macOS permissions
Islora asks for a permission (Accessibility, Screen Recording, Camera, Microphone, Speech Recognition, Calendar, Reminders, Contacts for the assistant) only at the moment a feature needs it, and each one is optional. You can review and revoke them in System Settings at any time.
This website
islora.app sets one cookie, which remembers your language choice (English or Turkish) if you change it. It uses no analytics or tracking. The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes request logs under its own privacy policy. If you email support@islora.app, I keep your message to answer it and delete it when the matter is closed.
Your rights
Because nothing is collected, there is nothing to export or delete on my side; your data is in your hands on your Mac. For questions, or to delete a support conversation, write to support@islora.app.
Changes
If a future feature needs to send anything else, this page and the app will say so before it does.
